Get an inside look at how PharPoint’s internship program equips future clinical research professionals through hands-on learning, mentorship, and career exploration.
A Learning-Focused Experience
Interns are immersed in the day-to-day work of their department, gaining practical experience and building technical skills in a real-world setting. Through hands-on projects, structured training, and dedicated mentorship, we aim to create an environment that supports continuous learning and individual growth. “Interns are part of the team, and everybody understands that and is willing to help them learn and get involved in projects,” says senior recruiter Cameron Bullman. Cameron leads PharPoint’s internship program, orchestrating internal and university-associated events and working closely with managers and department heads to help ensure the program meets expectations. Our internship program spans multiple departments, allowing interns to explore different functions and better understand what roles might align with their goals. Whether someone arrives with a clear direction or is still figuring it out, there’s space to learn, reflect, and grow. “Our internship program is unique because we offer cross-functional learning opportunities between departments,” explains Cameron. “You won’t be siloed.”
What Makes a Great PharPoint Intern?
PharPoint’s internship program is competitive. While technical skills (such as experience with SAS or R for programming roles) are helpful, they aren’t required. “We’re looking for people who are pursuing an education and are really interested in a career within clinical research,” Cameron shares “Qualities we look for include the willingness to learn and the drive to make the most of the opportunity.”
Internships That Open Doors
Since 2012, 67 interns have transitioned to become full-time employees. Today, PharPoint has former interns operating in high-level positions across the company –including executive-level, director-level, and study leads. Lauren M., now a Clinical Project Team Associate, is one example of a successful transition from intern to full-time employee. “My internship at PharPoint really helped me shift from being a full-time student to becoming a full-time professional,” she shared. “One of my favorite parts of the experience was getting to shadow my colleagues. Learning about their career paths in clinical research and seeing their day-to-day work helped me understand what it’s really like to be in this field. It confirmed that this is where I want to be. If you’re a student or young professional interested in life sciences, I highly recommend applying for an internship at PharPoint!”
No matter what path interns choose next, our goal is to offer an experience that sets them up for future success wherever it may lead.
Flexibility and Support
The program is paid and part-time, with flexible hours designed to accommodate academic schedules. Interns are treated as valued members of the team and receive mentorship, hands-on experience, and support for both current projects and long-term goals.
Some interns continue with PharPoint for multiple semesters or explore different departments. Others use the experience as a stepping stone to figure out what kind of career they want.
However the journey unfolds, PharPoint strives to create a welcoming, supportive environment where interns can learn, grow, and find their own path.
