Technical skills are important, but without strong abilities in communication, collaboration, and adaptability, your ability to share that expertise can be hindered. Here’s how to showcase these skills in your next interview.
Communication:
In interviews, it’s not just what you say, but how you say it. Can you clearly explain your role, your impact, and how you’ve contributed to a previous team? That clarity helps build trust and connection—which goes a long way in standing out from other candidates.
Collaboration:
How could you demonstrate your ability to work with others? Be prepared with examples of times you went above and beyond for your team—it’s a great way to show you’ll be a strong cultural fit.
Adaptability:
Staying calm and stepping up matters—and it says a lot about how you’ll handle the day-to-day in this industry. To demonstrate these abilities, I often ask candidates to share a time they had to pivot quickly. Did an unexpected issue come up? Were new tasks suddenly added to your plate?
