Meet the PharPoint Team: Parita P., Associate Director, Quality Assurance

In her role as Associate Director of Quality Assurance, Parita P. is responsible for overseeing audits, quality events, deviation programs and regulatory compliance at PharPoint Research.

Parita joined PharPoint as a Quality Assurance Manager in 2021. Her experience within quality assurance (QA) spans several industries and standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Clinical Laboratory Practices (GCLP), and experience in the Contract Research Organization (CRO) industry.

One of Parita’s favorite parts about working at PharPoint is the company’s size and the opportunities for growth available. “It allows me to wear many different hats,” she told us, “[which is] something I didn’t get to do at other CROs because I was siloed into just one role or responsibility.”

These various opportunities have allowed Parita to work closely with other functional areas, developing a comprehensive view of the CRO process as a whole.

“I think it’s made me better overall as a QA professional,” she shared. “Just understanding what PharPoint does from start to finish and gaining a better understanding of how we handle processes so I can support operations from a quality and regulatory standpoint.”

Within her day-to-day role, Parita highlighted the opportunity to audit vendors as one of her favorite responsibilities. “I love going out and auditing our vendors, seeing how they do things. It’s so cool to learn about their processes, and then you have that lightbulb moment where you realize, ‘That’s how that works. That’s the data flow.’ It’s always very exciting and interesting to me — a great learning experience.”

Outside of work, Parita stays busy as a new mother and wife, as well as a Bollywood-style dancer.

“Dancing is a huge part of Indian culture. At weddings, you’re always asked to join choreographed dance performances. I did a few at my own wedding,” Parita shared. “It’s something I really enjoy. I don’t think people would expect it, but I really do.

As she spoke with us about her time so far at PharPoint, Parita recalled one of her favorite projects — a quality initiative to revamp the ICH E6 training program.

“It was a really cool experience for me because I got to learn how to use different software,” Parita shared, “and I spent time diving deep into the regulations — understanding what is important for PharPoint and what is important for our staff.”

When asked what keeps her motivated in her role, Parita shared a belief that resonates deeply within the company’s culture: every task, no matter how small, holds significance and contributes to a greater mission of improving global health.

“What we do is really important,” she reflected, “and that’s what keeps me on my toes and keeps me interested in this field. It’s a small piece of it, but it’s small and mighty.”
